And Baby Makes Three . . .

I got a phone call this past week from Julien and Roisin in England. They had wonderful news! They are expecting a baby! And I will be a great-grandmother for the first time. Needless to say, I’m over the moon excited!

Roisin is having some nausea and has been quite tired but they had a scan done on Wednesday and both mother and baby are doing well.

My first great-grandchild is due in March . . . which is also my birthday month!

When they were married a year ago June in the civil ceremony in Manchester, England, Julien said that eventually they did plan to have children. So, of course Nana had to begin knitting. So I began working on a baby blanket.

However, I then thought perhaps that was silly to start something before the fact. So I put it aside. I’ve now picked it up again. And while I work on it, every stitch will be filled with my love.

I also plan to knit some cardigan sweaters, hats, socks and I even found an adorable pattern for a stuffed cat. So my needles will be clicking away!

When I was young, I thought the title “great-grandmother” indicated old age. I now know that it certainly doesn’t. It’s simply the life cycle and we have a fourth generation coming to our family. I feel deeply grateful to be part of all of it. Because it’s not about age …..it’s simply about love.
