We got back from England a week ago last night. If you follow me on FB, you’ve seen a few photos, but as promised I’ll have much more here for you. So……where to begin?
We flew Virgin Atlantic from Atlanta to Manchester. My first time flying that airline. Anybody flown them before? We had First Class and I’m afraid I wasn’t impressed. Ray worked for the airlines, so we always flew First Class with Continental (now United) and it was superb! I hated the seat configuration on Virgin. Felt like I was in a cattle car! The food was mediocre, the staff were friendly and the flight itself was good. (As Ray used to say, any flight you walk away from is good.) We arrived 45 min. early at 6:45 in the morning….the earliest arrival I’ve ever had to the UK or Europe. But we had arranged an early check in at the hotel, which was good.
I have some things to share with you of Manchester on Wednesday but I’ll begin with the family dinner on Thursday evening. Held at a very nice restaurant in Manchester, this was to allow the bride and groom’s immediate family to meet before the wedding on Saturday.
Roisin’s parents, David and Dymphna, were simply wonderful! So friendly and welcoming. Mom is also a nurse so I enjoyed discussing Irish nursing with her. David is a kind and very personable person. Her three sisters, Sorcha, Aoife (pronounced E-Fa), Orla and brother, Thomas were just like the parents with their welcome and friendliness. Two of the sisters are also nurses. Here’s some photos of the parents, Sorcha and Dymphna’s sister, Teresa.

And here’s Julien, Roisin and Aoife, my other grandson, Sebastian with Orla and Thomas and Bill, Julien and me.

There was lots of laughter and getting to know each other. Needless to say, it was a fun and wonderful evening.

I don’t want to bombard you all at once. So join me here next time for the wedding ceremony, complete with video of Julien and Roisin exchanging their personal vows together. And yes, Nana filled up with tears hearing their beautiful and meaningful words.
See you here next time…………………

Great review of a super evening. Bill
It truly was a super evening!
So lovely, Terri! What a nice idea to have a “family dinner” when the parties are coming from different area.
We have been busy with an unexpected death in Dick’s family and the beautiful arrival of our 2nd Great-grandson. All very emotional & intense. Just wanted you to know why I am not “with it”
So happy for you and your beautiful family!
Thank you.
I’m so sorry for your loss. But huge congratulations on another great-grandson! I’m hoping my first will come sooner rather than later 🥰
