Yes, it’s that time of year again! If you live in Florida, then you know June 1 till Dec. 1 is an iffy time for hurricanes.
Granted, I grew up with hurricanes, living on the coast, in Salem, Massachusetts. I remember Hurricane Donna in 1960. That one caused some damage but for the most part, hurricanes weren’t major, nor were they frequent. It’s a completely different story in Florida and there’s no doubt that they’re getting more severe and more frequent.
So here we are two months into the season. No, it’s not a hurricane. Yet. Tropical Storm Debby is getting ready to visit the west coast of Florida. Right now, they’re saying it’ll be a Cat 1. However, I’ve witnessed how that can change, as well as the direction, in the blink of an eye.
Here, on the east coast in Ormond Beach, we’re expected to get very heavy rain beginning tonight into tomorrow. Along with high winds and always the potential for tornadoes.
Then it looks like it will travel up the east coast heading north. So if you’re in the path of Debby, stay safe and take precautions.
As for me, I plan to spend the rest of the day working on my novel. With over 130 pages finished, I’m moving right along and I’m pleased with the story.
See you here next time……………………..

Stay safe!! Thinking of you!!
Thank you. The west coast of the state got the brunt of this one. Just some rain and wind here. Late Sept/Early Oct. is usually our worst time in this area. Ugh!
So glad all you are getting is heavy rain, Be safe, can`t wait for the book
Thank you. We’ve only gotten rain and some wind. So we escaped this one!
Hey Terri reading of your rain, I must tell you a story…when we have too many ducks on our pond, all we have to do is drag out the green n white stripe golf umbrella, put it up and all the ducks fly to a neighbouring pond. One morning it was raining when I fed the sheep, had the umbrella up and the ducks flew off. A good ploy when the numbers are high!!!
Fabulous news re writing…love Robbie in Tassie xx
Hey, Robbie….Apparently, those ducks aren’t into golfing…lol. Very clever way to get the ducks to move on. Who knew they hated umbrellas!
