Yes, Luella Barnes, the main character in book 2 of my mystery series is happy that I’ve resumed writing her story.
It’s been a busy few months preparing for and going to England for my grandson’s wedding. But now I’m back.
And on Monday, my creativity and imagination were calling to me. (More like screaming) If I let my writing go too long, I truly do experience withdrawal. So on Monday I reread what I’ve written so far. I decided to make some changes. Nothing major. But this is why it’s good to let your work sit for a little while. When you return to it, you’re pretty much reading it cold and you sometimes realize that the way you thought the story should go or things you should include aren’t quite right.
So I did an edit and took out some things and added new things. It was the right thing to do. I also fixed the typos or corrections. And then, I was ready to resume writing. So I wrote a couple of days this past week.
And I now have over 18,000 words and I’m about to begin chapter 10. The story is moving along and I’m very pleased with what I have so far. The murder has taken place and Luella has a vested interest as to why she’ll be putting her sleuthing skills back to work. I’m having fun writing book 2 and it’s a sense of accomplishment. Many of the same characters that you met in book 1 are there but you’ll also meet a few new characters.
That’s the latest update on book 2, Payback is Murder.
Join me here next time when I’ll share with you my process for writing, how I begin a novel, where I get my ideas, etc. And if you have any questions about writing in general, maybe thinking about beginning to write or specific questions about my previous novels, please leave a comment below and I’ll reply back.
See you here next time…………..

Can`t wait to read it
Oh, good! I hope you’ll enjoy it! 😊
Looking forward to book 2 for Luella, I really loved book one, as with most of your books I hate putting them down, and get sad when I get to the end.
Thank you so much. Those are the best words an author can hear!
This is a good review of a food way to write. Well done.
