I was born and raised in the Boston area . . . Salem, the Witch City. We did spend six years in Reading, Ohio due to my dad being transferred with his job. But we returned to Salem when I was in eighth grade. It’s where I attended high school and college, married and had my three children. It’s where my history and my fondest memories are.
As an only child, I always had quite an imagination and even had an imaginary playmate. I loved to read and although I didn’t realise it until years later, I’ve always had a passion for writing. My mom was a great storyteller and I loved hearing about her childhood, completely different from mine. She grew up on a farm in New Hampshire and had ten siblings.
Not only did I love hearing stories, I quite enjoyed telling my own. To whoever would listen…family, friends, my dolls and my stuffed animals. And I’m still grateful for all of the books my parents provided, which I have no doubt eventually led to my love of writing.
I’m a retired RN and I have lived in Florida for 37 years. It was after moving to Florida that I began taking my writing seriously by attending writers conferences to learn both the craft of writing and the industry.
